Today as we all know, there is awareness around the ill effects of climate change and how they have gotten even worse. So the governments (collectively) have come together, so the intensity of its repercussions can be reduced to some extent.
BCA, (the building and construction authority) launched the green mark certification Scheme in the year 2005. And the scheme is designed to rate new and existing building advancements depending on their environmental impact.
Should you apply or not?
Firstly, to apply for the same, you have to be either a building owner, developer, or a government agent. You will first of all have to assemble all the required certificates before you can send an application online through the BCA’s website.
Now once you are through the first step, you would be given a brief about all the parameters around it, followed by the submission, BCA will review your building development and then rate it based on its environmental impact.
As soon as your building is ready, there would be verification to know how far the parameters have been satisfied and if they think you have followed the parameters well, you would be awarded an official Green Mark Certificate.
Lastly
There are many advantages attached to it, which you would be entitled to if you are certified. Like your brand would automatically come to the forefront, it would gain importance. People as we all know take more interest in environmentally friendly brands, right? Getting certified would imply that the brand is not selfish and cares about overall wellness.
